Being a Member

The AIBGA was established as a Growers Organization structured for membership and embracing all categories of banana/plantain growers. AIBGA was built on the principle of group structure; District Branches and Area Councils. Our members are growers of banana/plantain in rural Jamaica predominately St. Mary, Portland, St. Thomas, St. Catherine, Clarendon and St. James. Based on AIBGA’s policies, the legal owner or owners of banana/plantain farms in Jamaica with at least an acre of bananas under production may apply to become a member of AIBGA. Current membership in the AIBGA is more than 1400.

Our Membership

AIBGA is funded from an annual member fee for grower members and income from sale of input supplies and use of ripening rooms. The fee is payable at one time or in two parts and is paid directly to any AIBGA branch.
